Main Ingredients

Flying Wheel Japanese Abalone in Brine x 1 can
Abalone Brine (used to cook the porridge)
Uncooked Japanese Rice x 1 cup
Ginger (sliced, thumb-sized piece)
Scallions (sliced, for garnish)
Water (add more as needed to reach desired consistency)

Directions

1️⃣ Rinse the rice 3–4 times under running water.
2️⃣ In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
3️⃣ Add rice and pour in the abalone brine for a rich umami flavor.
4️⃣ Toss in sliced ginger and cook until the porridge becomes soft and creamy (approx. 30 minutes).
